Holy Ann was a simple woman from Canada who knew God and fully trusted Him. She had a challenging situation with her health and in order to strengthen her bones the doctor advised her to eat an egg a day. Sadly, eggs were scarce during that season of the year. So Ann prayed to God that He should provide her with an egg a day.
God’s Unusual Provision
A little while later, a hen appeared at her doorstep. The Lord then told her to pick up the hen and put it on the first step of the stairs. She, in simple childlike faith, told the Lord that she would obey Him if He would stop the hen from clucking.
A Daily Miracle
The gift of faith in Ann constrained the hen and without clucking she laid an egg. The hen visited Ann’s house every day to lay an egg. The hen stopped visiting Ann when the doctor, after seeing improvement in Ann’s health, suggested that she change her diet.
“This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?”
