Honour God with Holy Living: The Power of a Set-Apart Life
Most Christians agree that holiness is good.
Some pursue it with passion, while others have accepted that it’s impossible. “No one can really be holy in this world,” they say.
But have you ever paused to ask why holiness matters?
What if holiness isn’t just about personal purity or moral effort? What if living a holy life is one of the highest ways to honor God?
If holiness is honour, then here’s a question worth thinking about: Would your life be found guilty of honoring Him?
Honour God With Holy Living
2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV) “Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”
Matthew 5:16 (NIV) “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
We honour God not just with lips or gifts, but with lives that reflect His holiness. To be holy means to be set apart, to be separate. The word in Greek is hagios. It means to be consecrated for God. You set yourself apart as belonging to God, so you live according to His commands, not according to what the world dictates (Romans 12:1-2).
When your choices, speech, and conduct reflect that you belong to Him, you are offering Him one of the highest forms of honour.
Holiness is honour in action. It’s living in a way that says, “I represent God wherever I go.”
