Too Many Children on Earth to Have More?
Some people argue that you should not bear many children because there are so many other children in the world that need to be cared for. Many who subscribe to this way of thinking twist scriptures to justify their desires or fears.
If you truly believe this, ensure that you actively set aside sums equivalent to what you would have spent on your child and give consistently to some child or children somewhere else. They are all around, even in the community you live in.
START OVER: HOW MANY CHILDREN SHOULD A CHRISTIAN HAVE? (PART 1)
Embracing God’s Will over Societal Pressure
While having fewer children is acceptable in certain circumstances, ensure that you do not misrepresent God’s will to justify it. Instead, recognize that having many children is seen as a blessing, akin to a quiver full of arrows ready for battle. This battle is against societal trends and values that do not align with the teachings of God.
Children are indeed a gift from God, and viewing them as otherwise stems from a place of selfishness. Everyone cannot be wealthy or have the same lifestyle, but we must all recognize the value and honour in having many descendants, as exemplified by Abraham.
Overall, it is important to recognize the value of having children and not just focus on our own desires. It’s a matter of priorities and honesty. The scriptures praise those with many children, but societal norms often discourage large families.
The command to increase and multiply hasn’t changed, but it doesn’t mean that everyone should have many children. Some families had many children in the past due to a lack of family planning, not necessarily as a religious mandate. On the other hand, there are couples who want many children but cannot have them due to biological, health, and other compelling factors.

Parting Scripture
I go with scriptures whenever there is an argument. Let me give you one from the Contemporary English Version in parting. Children are a blessing and a gift from the LORD. Having a lot of children to take care of you in your old age is like a warrior with a lot of arrows. The more you have, the better off you will be, because they will protect you when your enemies attack with arguments. Psalm 127:3-5
