SHOULD ALL CHRISTIANS SPEAK IN TONGUES? (Part 4)

Should All Christians Speak in Tongues (Part 4)?

Thinking Thursday 060

Answer these for a moment.

  1. Would you like to be increasingly built up in your faith until your shield can block all the flaming arrows of satan’s attempts to trick you? Do you recall that faith comes from hearing the word of God? But is the only way to hear the word of God from reading your bible? Can it come directly from hearing from the Holy Spirit who knows the deep things of God?
  1. The secret things are the Lord’s but the things that are revealed are for us and our children to be enabled to do the words of the Lord. Speaking out secrets to God in prayer implies praying about things we do not know including being thankful for things we are unaware of. Would you wish to speak in the spirit and get interpretations that result in your knowing secrets?
  1. There are many things we should pray about but cannot. Why? We don’t know we ought to pray about them! Our brains are unaware of the required knowledge to motivate the prayer. Example, an event yet to occur which you would rather it did not happen. If you could, would you pray about the many things that concern you and God’s purposes but which are kept secret from you?

What Happens When We Pray In the Spirit?

The Bible tells us that when we pray in the Spirit:

# We are building up ourselves in our most holy faith

– But you, beloved, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost; He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. Jude 1:20; 1 Corinthians 14:4

# We are speaking to God and uttering mysteries (secrets) in the Spirit

– For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2

# The Holy Spirit is helping us pray according to the will of God in areas we are ignorant of

– In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

So, if you are a Christian who does not speak or pray in the Spirit, you are significantly missing out on all the above. So thinking alongside:

I. You are less built up in the Spirit than you could be.

II. You are only able to speak about things that you already understand and cannot speak about God level mysteries.

III. You can only able to pray about things you know.

I have prayed and averted things on multiple occasions which I could not possibly know about. How did I know my praying in the spirit helped influence them? A kidnapping? A burglary? Fatal accidents? Sicknesses? Hundreds of unknown issues? How I know it was handled by praying in the spirit is that seconds to minutes or hours after I prayed for the person without knowing why I needed to urgently do so, they had an experience of very significant proportions like those above, happen to them or be averted and they came out of it far less hurt than they should have been, or not hurt at all.

After two times, it cannot be called a coincidence.
