The Lord calls for the sons of Zion
Though they are residents of Babylon
He reaches out to them in the darkness
He calls to them in a place of sorrow and sadness
He cries, “You must not forget Zion, your mother.”
Tell it also to your brother and sister
Though I keep you within Babylon’s gates
You must not partake of her sweet dates
You must not eat her meat or drink her wine
For I am making for you a banquet where you’ll drink from the true vine
Babylon seeks only for you to bow
And so she will entice, cajole and cow
She does not mind if you hallow My name
She only desires to be treated the same
“Give a little to God and a little to me,” she says
“For I have such beauties for your eyes to gaze”
“Learn my speech, thinking and all my ways”
“It will not stop Zion from being your base”
So she speaks repeatedly, so she speaks!
What then do I say? Listen to Me, I will show you her tricks
You cannot serve two masters, you know
Your love for one will shrink and for the other grow
Till your feet are swept away by the lure of Sodom
You would think you only sought to alleviate shame or boredom
Babylon does loud! Her speech and manner are loud
The intensity of her perfume does the senses cloud
She can be subtle and coy, a serpent in the garden
She can be brazen and bold as your heart is hardened
What she seeks is to possess your soul
Do you not know that this is her ultimate goal?
All who reject her will be buffeted for a time
They will be treated like men who committed a terrible crime
For you are in the space that is hers to wield for now
And she knows that in your future lies the possibility of a crown
Gird up the loins of your mind and prepare for war!
This war of all wars is not in carnage, blood, and gore
The war is a warfare executed in the spiritual realm
Babylon or Zion, you must fight for one of them
Do you wish to know how you can fight for Me in this great war?
Then stick around and listen to Me a little more
First, you must register your name in My Army
You must come sober and sure, you cannot be smarmy
You then commence basic training in My boot camp
You begin to learn as I teach you from My word – The Lamp
You are yet a cadet, a youngling with his head in the clouds
So I will speak to you a lot of times with rebukes and shouts
I will hand you over to a drill sergeant
A fellow soldier like you but a higher ranking agent
You must obey and follow him as he follows Me
That is the way I have set out your training to be
I can change the number and persons of the sergeant at will
You must follow each one while they follow me still
You cannot be cocky and proud if you will follow them
For obedience and humility in this army is a gem
You must reside in the barracks, you are not a civilian anymore
For your company must be fellow soldiers also preparing for war
As you get rid of immorality, greed, wrath and clamour
I will begin to outfit you with weapons of war – My whole armour
You surely did not think you’ll go to war in plain clothes
I’ll introduce My whole armour briefly with these anecdotes
There is the belt of truth which you gird the loins of your mind with
The preparation of the gospel of peace, these are for your feet
Your trunk you must enclose with the breastplate of righteousness
Leaving out the helmet of salvation would be grave foolishness
Take up the Shield of faith, the enemy has some fiery darts
And the sword of the Spirit – My Word; and so your warfare starts
Each piece must be taken up with prayer and supplication in the Spirit
For He is the Weapons Master, He gives the weapons and shows you how to wield it
You require further understanding so go and study Ephesians 6:10-18
Study also the lives of My good soldiers in the scriptures while you are waiting
This war will meet you, ready or not
All I can say is “Remember the wife of Lot”
For though she was a registered soldier
She was also ‘smart’, an artful dodger
You will find some like her around My army
But boy are they in for such a whammy
For on that judgement day as it pleases Me
I will settle everyone in the places they should be
Determine to be a true soldier of Zion
For there is no true gain in serving Babylon
