Thayer’s Definition

Agathosune” encompasses the qualities of uprightness, goodness, and good-heartedness.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

This goodness is not merely a superficial quality, but is expressed through genuine acts of kindness and generosity.

2 Thessalonians 1:11

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.

Thus, in the biblical context, the concept of “agathosune” conveys the idea of reflecting kindness in one’s actions towards others.
