Interrogated for His Faith
Twenty-five minutes later, they dumped him at a compound where other people began questioning him. “Who are you?” the leader demanded. “Are you a preacher? Are you converting Muslims? Which organisation do you belong to?” Sajid fell silent with fear. Are you mute?” another asked. “We will kill you if you don’t answer our questions.” “I am telling you the truth,” Sajid said. “I am God’s preacher.”
Refusing to Deny Christ
“If you want us to spare your life, you must deny your faith and become a Muslim. If you don’t do as we say, we will torture you; and, within thirty minutes, your passion for Christianity will blow away like dust in the wind.” “I am ready for whatever you choose to do to me,” Sajid declared. “I am prepared to die for Jesus. I will not lose my passion for Him no matter what you do to me.”
Tortured for His Confession
Sajid’s kidnappers strapped him to a tree, tied his hands behind him, and forced him to stand barefoot on a block of ice. While the Pakistani heat bore down on him, baking the rest of his body, his feet seethed in pain as if he were standing on a million pins. Four hours later, the bottoms and lower sides of Sajid’s feet swelled into blisters, tinted in green. He wept but did not speak. Sweat poured from his body, staining his clothes. “Look,” jeered one of the many onlookers. “It is a hundred degrees and the Jesus lover has frostbite!” The crowd laughed. “Maybe now you will give up this futile running after Jesus and return to where you belong,” a tormentor said. “Maybe now you will return to Allah.”
