PART 1:

If the Law is past and no longer relevant to the life of the Christian today, why does God say the new covenant is the writing of that very same law on their hearts?

Jeremiah 31:33 “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD. I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.

Hebrews 10:16-17 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

PART 2:

If the law is not for the present, why does God desire for us to know it so thoroughly that there is no need for His people to teach it to each other?

Hebrews 8:10-11 For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will each one teach his neighbour or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.

If the Law is past, why is it still called good, holy, and perfect, under the new covenant?
