Healing from Dysmenorrhea (Continuation)
In one of those months, another leader, who had come for the leaders’ meeting, massaged my waist till I fell asleep. I was given some sleeping pills to help me sleep, but they did not work; and, I even overdosed at one point, hoping to sleep but could not. It is different now because I am healed.
How did it happen? For six months, whenever I was menstruating, we would break bread here and Pastor would ask for healing for us; and, gradually, the pain became bearable every month; and, all I had to deal with were headaches, mild fevers, and cramps.
A pharmacist sister also prayed for me twice, my discipler prayed and even the NDDC brethren prayed too.
A month later, I had mild cramps for just one day. It did not even last the whole day. I was able to sit up and do the things that I had to do.
You have no idea how good it feels to have to go through your monthly phase without the whole world knowing about it; and, I am so grateful to God.
Abstinence from Medication
It has been more than a year and some months now that I have not had to take medications. Though I have been ill here and there, I have learnt to trust God for my healing and be humble enough to ask people to pray for me too.
I am also grateful that my body is healing from some of the damage caused by drugs, especially when I used to overdose on them. I feel like my immune system is getting stronger, and I am living like every other normal person.
Thank you, dear Lord.
