I want to be free-I yearn for freedom,
Like a butterfly, or bird fluttering away UNRESTRAINED!
My soul craves fulfilment.
Every wish, every desire within me beckons me.
I long to revel in every pleasure this my mortal vessel can embrace.
I want to do everything my soul desires, to possess all it yearns for.
In this pursuit lies my joy, my contentment, my fulfilment-
This should be liberty…
Shouldn’t it?
But Then…
Why, then, do I feel this check, in my heart?
Why do Your whispers say otherwise?
Why should my heart heed Your voice?
Your way, Your wisdom-This call to restraint?
You say hard words like: “obey, submit, wait, surrender”…
Why do You delight in this melody of moderation?
Do you dislike me?
Do you NOT want me to be happy?
Then Wisdom Found Me!…
Your true Spirit breathed on me and began to teach me.
I soon realized-True freedom does not lie in reckless abandon,
But in the gentle boundaries of Your love.
I now understand-Your restraint is love.
What is freedom if it leads to my destruction?
What is liberty if it alienates me from the riches of Your grace?
In Your love, I am cherished.
In yielding to Your will and instructions, my heart finds solace and lasting peace.
I longed to be like the butterfly, the bird-And yes, they are free to soar!
But even they, remain within the unseen bounds sculpted for them.
A Word to You, Dear One;
If you have met a “God”-A divine Love, who confers on you no righteous restraint…
Who teaches you to do as you please ALL the time.
Then, my friend, I fear you just may have met the Devil.
