I am hidden in Your sufficiency
To be an enduring flower; an uncrackable house of clay
I dare not step out bare and independent
For then, as sure as always, I wither and break apart
I would not know beauty until You became for me
A clothing of enduring strength and permanence
For You have hidden every sore and patch
Of insecurity, weakness and despair
In You, in Yourself for me
In seasons when I am near completely extinguished in mind and heart
You speak from Your eternity against all my transience, saying
“Let the withering flower live, and the clay house stand!”
And then my light remains.
