After you left town, the disco went bankrupt
The owner was thoughtful for a moment. “Tomorrow night, I will give you the microphone for five minutes.” When the clock struck twelve, he jumped onto the stage and took the microphone. “I’ve got something very important to tell you,” he said. He began to preach. Suddenly the wind of God began to blow. He heard sobbing and knew it was time for the altar call. He asked, “How many of you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior?” Every hand he could see went up. They prayed the prayer of salvation together. A year later, he returned. Instead of the disco sign, there was a huge white cross. The disco had become a church. A young person said, “We were dancing the night away. Now we are serving Jesus.”
Opposition from Fellow Missionaries
Reinhard designed a Bible correspondence course and bought a small offset press. Soon hundreds, then thousands, were enrolled. He expanded the printing operation to include an evangelistic magazine that reached many towns and villages. However, some missionaries talked about him in negative ways. They said his ego was leading the way and that his new methods were arrogant. He defended himself, argued, and was deeply hurt, yet he learned to bless those who cursed him. In a dream he saw a map of Africa covered with blood. The Spirit whispered it was the blood of Jesus. Then he heard the words, “Africa shall be saved.
The Vision of a Blood-Washed Africa
Later, while praying, the Holy Spirit said, “If you drop the vision of the blood-washed Africa, I have to drop you and look for somebody else.” He answered that he wanted to remain only in God’s hands and wrote his resignation letter.
Healing miracles happen
Next, John Bosman came to minister, an evangelist who made headlines with stories of healings. The church was packed with the sick and the blind. After preaching, John suddenly said, “Close the service.” The next morning the crowd was even larger. But when Reinhard went to fetch him, John was leaving. He said simply, “The Holy Spirit told me I must go.” Faith rose inside Reinhard, and peace filled his heart. He told the people, “I will preach, and I will pray for everyone who has come for healing, and we will see miracles.” He spoke with an authority he had never known before. “There are blind people here this morning… stand to your feet… In the name of Jesus, blind eyes open!” A woman rushed through the crowd crying, “I see! I see! I see!” To be continued…
