REINHARD BONNK (AFRICA SHALL BE SAVED) PART 7

Launch of the Gospel Campaigns

Reinhard visited a doctor and was told he had a stomach ulcer. He insisted he had no problems. That night God spoke clearly: “Fly to Gaborone in Botswana.” By morning his stomach was healed. He soon headed to Botswana’s National Sports Stadium, where God impressed upon him: “You will preach my name there.” Weeks of silence ended. He knew God wanted a campaign, so he informed Pastor Scheffers. The campaign was set for April 1975, but local churches showed little enthusiasm. Richard Ngidi was invited, and posters featuring both men were displayed citywide. The largest hall, seating 800, was booked. Only 100 people attended the first meeting, disappointing Reinhard

Revival Breaks Out with Signs and Wonders

During his sermon, a woman suddenly shouted, “I’ve just been healed.” Soon others claimed spontaneous healing, even though no one had laid hands on them. At the end, Reinhard called forward the sick. Those he prayed for collapsed, row after row. A man with crutches stood up walking and running. All 100 attendees began shouting and dancing. News spread rapidly. Within two nights the hall was full. By the week’s end, 2,000 were outside, eager to get in. Many more healings followed as signs of the gospel. At the 10,000-seat stadium, crowds swelled. Five hundred publicly affirmed their faith through water baptism. When Reinhard prayed for the Holy Spirit, all 1,000 who stepped forward spoke in tongues and prophesied.

The Money Trap

Anni and Reinhard were invited to the home of a wealthy heiress who had inherited vast wealth. She explained that she wanted to establish a trust and give half her wealth to fund their gospel crusades. While impressed by her generosity, Reinhard felt the need to seek God’s guidance. One night he dreamed of standing by a river surrounded by hippopotamuses, crying, “Jesus, help me!” Later, walking with her near a river on her property, he sensed danger and clearly heard God say, “My son, have nothing to do with this.” Trusting God, he politely declined her offer. At that moment, a weight lifted from his spirit, confirming he had made the right decision to remain free from worldly entanglement

Where is Richard Ngidi?

In 1977, Reinhard scheduled seven campaigns in rural South Africa, starting in Bushbuckridge. People walked miles from mud-and-thatch huts to attend. Richard was to pray for the sick, but did not arrive. The Lord said, “Ngidi will not come. You must go on without him… I am with you.” Strengthened, Reinhard preached and prayed, and many were healed. To be continued
