REINHARD BONNK (AFRICA SHALL BE SAVED) PART 9

CfaN Headquarters Move and Jürgen’s Salvation

The year was 1985. Reinhard began planning to move Christ for All Nations from Johannesburg to Frankfurt. It was a huge move. They would lose many prayer partners and supporters from South Africa. But the Apartheid policy had become a liability, and some countries opposed them because of their address. The Lord showed him that a German passport would allow free movement. Later, he heard the Holy Spirit say, “You didn’t write the letter. I will require his blood at your hands.” He wrote to Jürgen, his brother, about a dream he had seen. Jürgen replied that his best friend had died of cancer and that he wanted to kill himself. He had dreamed of falling from a bridge without handrails. In fear, he prayed, asking God to speak through Reinhard if the dream was from Him. Later, Reinhard’s letter came. The dream matched. Jürgen gave his life to Jesus; Reinhard broke down and wept.

Riot in Kano, Nigeria

In 1991, Reinhard flew to Kano for evangelistic meetings. At the airport, John Darku warned that snipers wanted to kill him. The government arranged a secret exit. Unrest broke out among Muslims. Unable to find Reinhard, mobs attacked Christian churches, homes, businesses, and pedestrians. Explosions sounded, and black smoke filled the air. Hundreds of bodies lay on the streets. The army prepared an emergency evacuation. Reinhard wanted his guests to leave first, but officers insisted he go since he was the target. Winfried Wentland and his wife, Gabrielle, nine months pregnant, believed they were to stay and bring the equipment home. They had prayed and believed God wanted them there despite the killing of Christians going on. They said, “Whether we live or die, God is going to see us through. Please do not order us to disobey the Lord.” Though reluctant, Reinhard prayed for them before departing. To Be Continued…
