A Battle in the Heart
“Yes, Lord,” she responded, “I believe Thou wouldst, but I cannot do it.” Another thought occurred to her, but she immediately recognised its sinister source: “Besides, you are not prepared to speak. You will look like a fool and have nothing to say.” Catherine grew indignant at this taunt. “Ah! This is the point. I have never yet been willing to be a fool for Christ. Now I will be one.”
Catherine Takes the Stage
Catherine leapt to her feet and mounted the stage, where her husband was just drawing his message to a close. William crossed the stage to help her, thinking that something was wrong. Catherine simply told him, “I want to say a word.” William was caught a bit off guard, but inwardly, he was pleased.
A Historic Introduction
Turning to the congregation, he stated, “My dear wife wishes to speak,” and relinquished the stage to her. He found a seat, interested to hear what she had to say.
