The power of the tongue is always present and at work. We claim to believe this. But what power does this our tongue wield when we curse, complain, and murmur?
Does the power trip off?
Proverbs 11:11 By the blessing of the upright a city is built up, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.
The majority have been taught to use the power to profess blessings and almost any good stuff they delight in. It is believed that the more you speak, the more manifestations you will see and this would motivate you to speak more.
But what happens when your ‘more’ is not positive?
Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Words have the power to build up (life) or tear down (death). Think about this: All the times you said words to or concerning your children, spouse, friends, boss, workplace, or nation were you building up or tearing down?
If words were not so important Jesus would not have said:
Matthew 12:36 tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak

James 3:5-6 So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things. Just think how large a forest can be set on fire by a tiny flame! And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself.
