Everyone deserves some praise when they put much time and effort into any work. It is also exhilarating to see our favourites get some form of recognition or reward from big names. Take the movies for example, they were made for people, so it is not out of place for the people to judge and comment on which ones they liked best, and which ones they did not. It is also not strange for them to reward their best actors, actresses, producers, etc.
But what about when it is done for God? Who is to say that a song sung to God is the best song? Should people or God decide? Who is the true examiner of worship offered to God?
All over scripture, we see that God has a problem with being presumed upon. This is because He thinks very differently from us!
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration. “For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9
Also, God intensely dislikes the things that the generality of mankind glories in.
He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight. -Luke 16:15

What to not Judge
Almost everyone celebrates ‘Gospel Artistes’ for getting awards such as the Grammys, BET awards, etc. But I ask again, who gave the verdict?
Before you get ticked off by the thought that you may have been doing things wrong, think about this: would you rather get rewarded by man or God?
There are rewards you get now, in this age, that ruin your chances of getting any reward in the next age.
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. -Matthew 6:1-2
I think it is only normal that the intended audience gets the final say. But if you think there is no problem with the world awarding worshippers of God for their supposed worship to God, then I think it is honest to say the song was a performance for the people. These are my thoughts, but what say you?
And behold, I AM coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work -Rev. 22:1
