If a 5-year-old steals a cube of sugar, one could explain such behaviour – logically. We could say the child may have socialized with people who steal.
But if we go with that logic, how do we explain when babies and toddlers who know very little, act naughtily or disobey deliberately to spite? Still socialization? Definitely not.
Thankfully, the Bible gives us answers:
- Deceit and wickedness lies in the heart of mankind regardless of age. –Jeremiah 17:9
- The whole world is under the power of the evil one. -1 John 5:19
- Children, including babies, are naturally prone to foolishness. -Proverbs 22:15

What do you think?
Whether you agree or not, it is a proven fact that how you train your children is how they will grow up (Proverbs 22:6).
To know and practice good takes real effort. Want some proof? Look at the vegetation around you. It takes effort to plant edible plants, but weeds just grow by themselves.
Just like edible plants require a lot of grooming, manure, pesticide, etc. to yield harvest, one must be intentional to raise good children. It will require intentional discipline.
So, how are you raising the children under your care?
