In 2018, I used to have a very big ganglion on my left wrist. Initially, it didn’t bother me, but it just wouldn’t go away. My sister, a medical doctor, recommended that I go in for surgery. I decided to go to the teaching hospital for the procedure. There, I was given a bill that cost about a hundred thousand naira. I didn’t fix a date for the surgery, but I had planned to do it within a few weeks.
A Call to Attend Church Meetings
However, at about the same time, I started attending meetings more regularly. Pastor Ita had asked me to come around more often for church meetings because I used to be quite inconsistent – I would come for a meeting on Wednesday, skip Friday, and definitely wouldn’t show up on Sunday, because I had other commitments in my former church group.
After he spoke to me, I decided to start coming more regularly. As I did, I began to enjoy the worship experience. I had desired to have an extended time of worship, rather than the regular 10-20 minutes allocated in many churches. Now, I still had the obvious swelling on my left wrist, which was kind of embarrassing. So, if we were ask to lift up our hands and worship God, I would feel self-conscious and cover it with my right hand.
The Day of Healing
On this fateful day, while we were worshipping in church, I heard Pastor say, “Lift up your hands and worship.” I lifted up my hands and got so carried away with being in the Lord’s presence that I did not even remember to cover my left wrist. Sometime into the worship, I remembered the ganglion and thought to cover it.
I crossed my right hand to the left, and realized that the swelling was gone! I was shocked! I brought my hands down and I looked at my wrist, wondering if it was my mind, or perhaps my right hand wasn’t feeling properly. The ganglion was gone! Just like that, it disappeared, and has remained so ever since. This is 4 years and counting.
