Śimchâh is from the root word ‘sâmach’ which means: to rejoice, to cheer up, to cause to rejoin, to brighten up, etc.
The Strength of Joy
In a world full of tribulations of many kinds, it is easy to lose our joy and give in to murmuring and complaining. God has offered to give us His joy so that we will have the strength we need to survive (Nehemiah 8:10).
Entering His Presence
To get this joy we must enter into His presence.
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
A Call to Thanksgiving
So make up your mind today to get the joy (strength) that you need by entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4).
