Caught in Sin and False Doctrine
While working with a relative of my master, his wife approached me to start an immoral relationship, and I agreed—even when her husband was around. Many times, my heart knew no peace, as my conscience judged me severely.
I am a Nigerian currently living in Yaoundé, Cameroon. I got to know about God’s Lighthouse through the BeingReal George YouTube channel in 2021, from a video he posted featuring Pastor Ita Udoh speaking on Zion vs. Babylon. At that time, I was deep in sin and a follower of false doctrine.
The Struggle with Immorality
After completing a 7-year apprenticeship under my master, I returned to Cameroon in August 2021 and stayed with a relative of my master who owned a restaurant. Some months into my stay, the man travelled, and his wife approached me to start an immoral relationship. I agreed, and this continued consistently, even when her husband was around. My heart often felt heavy, and my conscience judged me severely.
During a conversation with the husband, who I believe is a Christian, he referred to scripture: “Whoever is touching and sleeping with another man’s wife will not escape God’s judgment.” He even placed curses on such people. At that point, my heart became heavy, and I confessed my guilt, though I didn’t reveal it was with his wife. Eventually, the guilt pushed me to leave his house and rent my own apartment.
Falling Again and Seeking Deliverance
After moving out, I fell into sexual immorality with another lady. I went on a three-day fast, asking God to help me overcome fornication, but I fell again when she visited on the third day. This continued until I listened to a sermon by Pastor Ita Udoh: “If the place you are living in causes you to sin, leave the place.”
The Holy Spirit convicted me, and I acted. Even though I had one month of rent left, I left the apartment and moved into the living room of a family man I had once served. This obedience marked the beginning of my deliverance from immorality.
Consistency and Victory
Alongside moving, I became consistent with church meetings, listened to more messages from God’s Lighthouse, and received guidance from my assigned discipler. These steps helped me overcome sexual immorality.
From March 2023 until now, God has helped me remain pure and consistent in seeking Him. I am deeply grateful and say, may His name be praised. Amen.
