BARREN OR UNEQUAL

God’s command is that we should replenish the earth and multiply physically and spiritually. We must do this in conjunction with others. These “others” must be of our own lineage too! We must not cross breed, as the result i.e. the offspring (Ishmael, Edomites, etc) will be opposers of God and His people/purposes. To be like the patriarchs who walked with God, we must not cohabit with those of the world i.e. we must not be in intimate relations with them and allow them to play an equal role in our life processes.

It is often the mixed multitude among the children of God that motivates or causes them to sin. Same as Jezebel, Solomon’s foreign wives, Athaliah, etc. Thus, it is not only the offspring of your “intermarriage” that will be corrupt, but you also will be – as a co-breeder. They are the one who live led by their desires and when they are around you, your ‘fleshly nature’ wants to agree with them. Depending on your spiritual maturity, with time, you will likely yield. Punishment will then come on you also like on the children of disobedience – for sin leads to death.

Don’t compromise and intermingle. Live among sinners but don’t be intimate or you will become like them and produce corrupted offspring both spiritually and physically. It’s a natural result and not subject to exceptions.

Esau was a classic example and could not therefore produce clean offspring and continue God’s lineage promised to Abraham. He had already gotten married to TWO “strangers” before Jacob ever went to search for a wife! And the both men were twins; of the same age! The fleshly person is usually in haste. The spiritual one takes time and pays a price for one “good” thing.

• Abraham got Isaac after more than 25 years of following God and staying faithfully married to ONE BARREN wife. (Ishmael was Sarah’s idea and he had a child with her to please her.)
• Isaac got Esau and Jacob after 20 years with ONE BARREN wife.
• Jacob got Joseph after 10 children from a wife he never sought and the BARRENNESS of the ONE wife he sought.
• John the Baptist came to Zechariah after years of faithful service in God temple and the BARRENNESS of ONE elderly wife.
• Etc.
