There’s a massive picture God is painting,
And there is a grand reveal we are expecting.
It will come at the end, when all other lights fade,
And only one points to a grand stage.
But right now, the Artist sits, a picture in His heart,
His hands move carefully, yet surely, drawing every part.
Creation is His material.
Everything’s at His disposal.
A picture finished from the beginning,
Everything geared towards love’s leaning.
What role do you have to play, you may ask?
Every tool is set up with its distinct task.
You may be a brush for a particular stroke on the canvas;
You may be a color to draw a line on an atlas.
You may be a big brush, filling in big spaces,
Or a thin brush, outlining several surfaces.
You may be a thick line, leaving many traces, or a thin line;
A role so easy to decline.
But in the end, you’re a beautiful detail,
Bringing life with your own tale.
You may be the easel with lots of colors on your back,
Sometimes separate, sometimes together, swirling like a pack;
An artwork on your own, such as one has not known,
The easel, whose identity is “the Artist’s own.”
I wonder what this picture will be,
That which, for now, only the Artist can see.
Something He knows will bring much gain.
Maybe the earth itself is being drawn again.
But one thing is sure: you only need to yield,
And let the Great Artist paint the picture His love already sealed.
