Why do you worry, oh my soul?
Why do you fret, oh heart, so low?
Why are you cast down deep within?
Why anxious when new days begin?
Do you not know the God you serve,
Whose faithfulness does never swerve?
His power reigns o’er all you see,
The God who keeps His promises to thee.
The Alpha, Omega, the First, the Last,
The God of creation, unsurpassed.
His ways are pure, His will is right,
In Him, oh soul, find peace and light.
He says, “Call in trouble, I will be near;
I’ll fight for you, so hold no fear.”
“Be anxious for nothing, just come and pray,
And My peace will keep you through the day.”
“Knock and I’ll open, seek and you’ll find,
Ask, and I’ll answer, I am kind.”
“I will never leave nor turn away,
I’m with you always, come what may.”
So, my soul, take refuge and rest,
Under His wings, you are truly blessed.
He sees your tears, He hears your cries,
And in His time, joy will rise.
For nothing’s too hard for God above,
Who made the world in perfect love.
He parted the seas, gave life to man,
All by the work of His mighty hand.
The Lord who shaped both day and night,
And tells the sun when to shine bright.
He formed the stars, the seas, the skies,
And holds the earth where it lies.
He gave His Son to die for you,
To clothe you in righteousness anew
Though we fall short in countless ways
His grace sustains us through our days
So, why be troubled, oh my soul?
Why let the waves of doubt take hold?
Behold the Lord, the Great I AM,
Our help and trust, the Eternal Lamb.
Wait on the Lord, be still, be strong,
For His faithfulness endures lifelong.
Oh my soul, trust in His word—
Wait on the Lord, your faithful God.
Amen.
