When the devil wears white,
To sell you all your lies,
Enough to keep you bound for a lifetime.
But we’re blinded by the smiles,
Ever so wide, so radiantly bright.
In the turn of all creation,
A reverberation runs through the nations,
Leaving scars for generations.
Oh, can we see within our natures,
See there the life of good and bad at war,
Overwhelming every bit of us?
Is there no end? No saving to be lent?
Awaiting the veil to be rent
Beholden, Salvation’s own hem.
In every heart, a battle’s waged
Between all the light and darkest shades
The war is raging, night and day
As our only thought’s to find our way.
Running through the noise, the chaos and the pain
Searching for truth, for love, for gain
As a mirage, all slip away
Leaving us with nothing but dismay.
Yet holding on to Hope’s thin thread
Praying that somehow, some way, we’ll be led
Free from the darkness, all about the light.
With Peace and Love to guide, through the night.
