There is a church, she has Rachel’s eyes
So beautiful, adorned in tears
As she lays down her life
For the Son enthroned at the Father’s right hand.
And on those very grounds that swallowed her bones
There, salvation was birth unto all flesh
There is a church, her eyes are open, her ears are tuned,
And she gathers her children
As they watch the day approaching beyond the dark horizon
There is a church, she lives the fast the Lord has chosen
To seek out the lost, house the poor, and bind up the broken
There is a church, burning coals from the Lord’s altar have kissed her lips
Purifying her by the flames of His jealousy
To proclaim liberty to those blind to their cages
There is a church, her heart is an inferno,
And the heat rages within her bones
Until the truth runs free in the streets,
In the squares, and every circle of the earth
There is a church, she’s soon to wed,
But has on an armor for a wedding dress.
She trembles beneath its weight
As she walks down the aisle,
Her gaze hooked on what lies unseen –
An infinite glory, a never-ending love story
