While I was in camp, I had one last hope of growing my account. I had about $56 left, along with a $20k funded account. However, the guilt of supporting an abortion, something I never thought I would be part of, weighed heavily on me. I also struggled with insomnia and the stress of camp. Eventually, I blew both accounts.
I made rookie mistakes that even I couldn’t believe. I hated camp and just wanted to leave. Fortunately, I became the hostel governor, which allowed me to skip almost every parade and SAED class.

A Turning Point
One fateful evening, they forced us to attend the social night. Even members of the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship had to attend. That was where I met Sis. M.O.
We connected through our love for music. I got her number, and we became friends. Whenever we met on camp, she would preach to me. She also gave me the Believers’ Bible School audios taught by her pastor and encouraged me to listen to them.
However, I would almost fall asleep whenever I tried to listen to the messages. Whenever we met, she would ask if I had listened to them, and I would admit that I hadn’t.
After I left camp, I met Sis. M.O. again. Interestingly, we discovered that we had the same CDS day. That seemed almost impossible because there were five other CDS days. Looking back now, I believe God orchestrated it.
She continued inviting me to her church group, but I kept postponing my attendance.
To be continued…
