Persecution is a scary concept. Many wonder, “Can’t it be escaped?” Persecution is inescapable for Christians who actively pursue righteousness.
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. -2 Timothy 3:12
● As a Christian, being adverse to persecution is as good as you signing up to deny Jesus in the face of trouble. In this world, you will definitely have troubles. (John 16:33)
● Why go through persecutions at all? Persecution arise because of the word. (Mark 4:17)
● In all these, we have God’s assurance that He will give us peace in the midst of tribulations. (Philippians 4:7)
A possible outcome of persecution: Martyrdom.
Luke 14:26-27,33 If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple. In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.
Why Should You Be Willing to Lose Your Life?
Matthew 19:27-30
“Look,” Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?” Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
Here is the good news! You will eventually get everything back, and even much more. It is called: The Age to Come — The renewal of all things.
Do you believe there will be a new heaven and earth? Do the Lord’s will now. Then, you will get to rule and reign with Christ.
