So, what should the Christian’s role be concerning politics and related matters?
#1. Pray for those in Government:
First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 AMP
Then they (i.e. God’s people) can offer sacrifices that please the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons. Ezra 6:10 (GW)
Teach the king to judge with your righteousness, O God; share with him your own justice, so that he will rule over your people with justice and govern the oppressed with righteousness. Psalm 72:1-2 (GNB)
Please help the king to be honest and fair just like you, our God. Let him be honest and fair with all your people, especially the poor. Psalm 72:1-2 (CEV)

The reason is there provided: It results in your life and that of others, being much more peaceful and quiet. Don’t you want peace for yourself or others, wherever you are? God also does.
